Re: Sparkling/carbonated water

There’s an industry burst standard for bottles that contain carbonated drinks and bust pressure is huge, they are ductile and designed to be over pressured, loads of YouTube vids out there.

A gardener I am not

Fair enough I just use a spare fermenting bucket. I thought there was a newfangled way of doing things now I'm slightly disappointed I like a good experiment and feel stupid. Huh? Sometimes simple is best for me. The hose in jet mode really gets the foam up on Starsan. You can use a lot less cleane...

Re: A gardener I am not

For cleaning or sanitising an auto siphon or pipework

Also if I am cleaning 3 or 4 kegs I put down the lids or components in sequence so I don’t mix them up

Re: 0.01g accuracy scales up to around 200g or 500g

Ok it arrived and out of the box it was out by .02 on 0.5g and .03 on 100g
You can calibrate it at 100 and 300g
After it did that it was .01 on .5g and still .03 on 100g.
I’ll only ever use it for additions so I’m measuring up to 25g max level and so it’s good enough and compact enough for that.

0.01g accuracy scales up to around 200g or 500g

For water additions a jewellers scales is an essential bit of kit I had that one and the batteries supplied leaked out when I went to use the other day. I bought weights to check it and it was good across the .01-10g range Only pita was getting powders onto the plate where I used to use the lid of t...

Super simple corny keg washer under £70

I bought a cheap Chinese pump and a nozzle and stuck it all in a 3 ft flower pot The metal you can see at the top is just a bit of Alu angle to allow the keg rest, wasn’t really needed but helps. Mad for the Starsan me! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190104/e685bbe1e017151c9ae46c21187321c1.jpg h...

Re: #25 ESB.3

Great pics, consider some rice hulls or oat husks washed to allow proper flow through the crushed grain as well to avoid channelling and although I also drop the basket it, it also gets a good stir.

Re: Grainfather - first impressions

Can you just clarify something. So when you start you push the top plate down to the level of the liquid so that it just touches yeah? then you push down and locate your central stem and overflow piece. It’s common to have some overflow down the first five or 10mins as the water finds its way throug...
