Screw top bottles need screw tops.
Not corks.
The necks are not strong enough.
You can see it of you look closely. Much less glass.

Re: Inkbird ITC-308S Problem(s)

Excellent news.
Been fiddling recently, and I have come to the conclusion "any doubt replace the probe". Works like a charm.

With a balanced system I find that party taps work well enough. What would you say is the benefit of a flow control tap over a balanced line?

Cheers Tom
Yeah I like them. They make a good bottling device too.

Re: Bittering/Aroma hop ratio

That's a good thought, but it isn't something I have heard of.

Modern hop types & strengths vary so wildly, I think it would be of little help.

And I like the simplicity. And doubt I could get through a keg quick enough. And don't want the cost and hassle of gas. But ...

Forgive me, but John Palmer is American. "too malty" would be very easy to get to fit a UK beers.

Not knocking John at all, but his palette will be different.

Re: Flaked oats and torrified wheat in extract recipes?

I thought that the water has to be within certain limits for the enzymes to work properly…that’s from the bit of reading I’ve done about mashing. So much to learn !
No. I full volume mash all the time.

Re: Flaked oats and torrified wheat in extract recipes?

Is this with all the grains still in the pot or have they been removed and it’s just the remaining wort?
Either. But Best would be to pop the grain in a bag and then just lift it out. Small batches work well with supermarket veg bags.
