I have read the recipe, I believe it's about 15% crystal. I seem to remember the beer is quite dark so I was interested how it'd come out for someone who's brewed the recipe.

Re: Contacting brewery for info on their beer
Update for anyone who was interested: Got a reply from the brewery saying they're unable to divulge what goes into their beer . Oh well, it was worth a shot.

Importing oak cubes from US
Pretty random question this. I'm going to the states next month and I thought I might take advantage of the range of homebrew stuff they sell over there. One thing I want that doesn't seem readily available in the UK is some medium toast American oak cubes. I understand there's pretty strict restric...

Re: Contacting brewery for info on their beer
Yes,one of my favourite recipes from Graham's book.A damn good beer that I have brewed many times and its getting that time of the year that another one is due . That's promising. This probably deserves a different thread but how dark does it come out? It seems like just pale and crystal wouldn't b...

Re: Contacting brewery for info on their beer
I'd be interested in an exact recipe if that's what they're willing to give but any info would be of interest.

Re: Contacting brewery for info on their beer
A few years ago, I asked Hopback for their Winter Lightning recipe. I didn't hear anything for a few months and then out of the blue, I got an email with the recipe and an apology for keeping me waiting. It was fair to say, I was very impressed. The recipe was for several thousand litres but beersm...

Re: Contacting brewery for info on their beer
That'd be excellent if you could! Think I'll try pinging them an email anyway.

Re: Contacting brewery for info on their beer
How do you know he wasn't able to get the percentages?
Not too fused about precise quantities to be honest, I'd just be interested in any extra info they'd be willing to share.

Re: Contacting brewery for info on their beer
Indeed, I've noticed quite a few breweries are happy to share details. Fullers, for example, appear to be very open, which is what got me thinking about asking. They must realise it's no threat to their business. I'd never expect to create a 100% exact copy but nevertheless am always very interested...

Re: Contacting brewery for info on their beer
It's Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby I'm interested in, a bit of a fan favourite, I understand. I tried some for the first time and it was excellent. My dad also liked it a lot and I thought it'd be nice to brew a batch for Christmas. I have GW's book with the recipe but was interested to know if it's accura...

Contacting brewery for info on their beer
Hi guys, I'm wondering if anyone has any experience doing this? I want to contact a brewery about one of their beers to try and get some info about what goes into it. What do you think would be a good approach? Should I just email the brewery's public facing email address? I realise it could be a lo...

Re: Party star tap not holding gas
Thanks oz11 (and thanks for the diagram you sent!) but I think I'll leave it for now. Might give it one more go then get in contact with the store.

Re: Party star tap not holding gas
It seems to be something to do with the workings of the flow control knob. When I pulled the tap out out the empty keg it held the remaining gas however I then tried turning the gas on and off again, to check if there was anything left but once on, I couldn't make it turn off again. It's after this ...

Re: Party star tap not holding gas
The gas definitely seemed to be coming out the tube, rather than the bulb housing. When I screw in a new bulb it briefly fires out the back of the bulb housing but then stops once I screw it in properly.
