Re: where next

I just rinse well after pouring, leave them to dry and put them uncapped in open crates until my next bottling session. When I come to bottle my next batch I use star san in a bottle rinser and stick them on a bottle tree. I've never had any problems. Maybe leave sterilising/sanitising until bottlin...

Re: brewing with fresh hops

Thanks for the replies. That recipe looks good Stewb. I'm going to do something similar, bittering with dried hops and then late additions with fresh hops.

brewing with fresh hops

I have a decent quantity of Prima Donna (aka First Gold) hops growing in the garden so I'm thinking of brewing a wet hop beer. Has anyone got any recipes or tips?

Re: Purchasing a suitable biab bag

Got mine from http://brewinabag.co.uk/en/12-biab-bags which I believe is the same supplier as above, but cheaper for some reason. I wouldn't skimp on the bag, especially as you have a 72lt pot. I guess your grain bills are around 8-10kg dry weight so a strong bag is essential.

Re: False bottom
had a brewbuilder custom cut one in mine, was nice but a slightly more expensive option
Sounds great, but unfortunately I have to go for the extremely less expensive option. I have found a collapsible stainless veg steamer in the cupboard which is too small on its own but will...

False bottom

Hi all, do you use a false bottom in your pans? Have you any recommendations suitable for a 40lt 380mm diameter pan? I've been brewing without and I've not burnt my bag (yet), I'd like to keep it that way. I was thinking of a wire cooling rack or pizza tray but I wondered if these would be suitable....
