Re: Beer cost

I think that you might have a problem finding a pint of beer in a bottle  Although I do use quite a few German 500ml flip-tops, I only use proper pint crown capped bottles. I have owned many of them for decades and have used them many times over. And Irish cider is still sold in pint bottles i...

Sixteen quid all in, 40p a pint.
If that was a brewlength of 23 litres it works out at 34.7 pence for 500 ml
25 litres works out at 32 pence ????
British pint, 568ml, not bloody Euro short measures!

Re: Beer cost

Just dropped in for the first time in a year, having just brewed a Centennial smash last Monday.

5kg Maris Otter £5.60
100g Centennial £5.65
West Coast yeast £2.75
Approx. £2 for gas and leccy

Sixteen quid all in, 40p a pint.

Re: AG#28 (BIAB#9): Viral Monster B

Ok, I think I have now satisfied the X posts and/or Y days anti-spam precautions, so photos might work now. Quite a few years ago, with the help of Wez, Vossy and Eskimobob from the old homebrew forum, I made the transition from kit mixer to 3-tier AG brewer. Then one day I lent my 30 litre coolbox ...

Re: Brewfather brewing app

Years ago, when I first crossed over from kit mixer to the dark side, I think I was using something called BrewMate on a PC laptop, which has now expired. A month ago, I tried to plan my return brew on a Mac using an application called Brew Target, or something like that. I wasn’t overly impressed. ...

Question: BB Code is off and I can’t post attachments, is that because I have only just re-registered?

AG#28 (BIAB#9): Viral Monster B

First off I should explain that my brew names are usually a play on the hops I am using. In this case I am aiming for a hop monster using Minstrel and Bravo, and this seemed like a very convenient anagram, apart from the spare B. I have just doughed in and have 5kg Maris plus 200g dark crystal all w...

Re: Spent grain disposal - what do you do with it?

Spent grain dog treats: 4 mugs spent grains 2 mugs plain and/or wholemeal flour 2 eggs 1 tbsp peanut butter Whizz the lot together in a food processor, divide into two, flatten into patties, wrap in clingfilm and chill for an hour, or overnight. On a floured worktop, roll out to approx. 1/8th inch (...
