Re: Just how bad is fermenting at 32 degrees?

Maybe something to consider in future but as temps are falling I should get away with us-05 for next week's brewday 🤞

Re: The Range MYO Red wine

If anyone has one of these kits can they have a look at the ingredients list to see if the juice has any sugar actually in the mix? Cheers Tom The pouch of stuff weighs a shade over 2.2kg, so 65% x 2.2kg = 1.43kg of pure juice stuff. An unknown amount of elderberry and blueberry concentrate on top ...

Re: Just how bad is fermenting at 32 degrees?

Kveik eh?

Could be the answer but if it's temperature range is upwards of 30c, how would it perform at around 25c ambient?
Any special treatment required?

Why not?
I thought it was only the Belgian yeasts that could handle anything over 25c ish without stressing and creating off flavours?

Did the myo kit say add sugar then?
Not done one yet but it says to add 4kg of dextrose on their website.

Re: The Range MYO Red wine

I would really doubt it. The concentrated is from pressed juice. What are you thinking? Something along the lines of..... A cellar 7 kit needs no extra sugar and weighs approx 7kg. So if you took the sugar component out of it would the remaining juice weigh about the same as the MYO kits? If you ne...

The Range MYO Red wine

Hi all Has anyone made the Make Your Own red wine kit from the range? I usually buy in the£30-40 bracket but am thinking of giving these a go. I'm not particularly bothered that they are a lighter bodied wine, it's more a flavour thing for me. So as long as they taste ok I'll probably get one on. Th...

Re: Syphon tube

Ahhhhhh, gotcha. Simple but effective. By the look of them they will take different sizes of tube too.
Did you get yours from there or from wish?

Re: Syphon tube

Two clips? Now I'm confused 😆
I just use one of these

By eck, that's a big picture. Been a while since I've attached one, forgotten how big they could look.

Anyway the tube just bends over the top of this. Hope that's eased your pain?

Re: Syphon tube

Excuse my stupidity but how would something like that stay in place with me using a bucket clip? Obviously it would or the suggestion wouldn't be made but I can't picture it as the rigid pipe currently runs through the lower part of the clip inside the bucket then the tube bends over the top of that...
