put a washing machine tap on the inlet of your i/c and either use the existing washing machine tap or put a new on in and link with normal washing machine pipe,if you put the same fitting on your boiler a cheap shower head and pipe will screw on,ideal for sparging.

Re: Bottles: the ones to use (research!)
The third and most importantly is that the supermarkets would tell you where to stick it. The dutch have a solution to this, your charged the deposit as normal at the checkout (a few cents) To redeem the deposit theres a machine in the supermarket that you put the bottles in,once youve put them all ...

Re: Electrical advice
Sounds like cheep plug and or socket.Use a decent make like MK on the replacment. I have a sneaky suspicion that when they fitted the electrics they ran a cable from a plug socket in the kitchen and this serves two sockets in the conservator Depends on how its wired,if the've come from an existing s...

Literally just received mine from screw fix,£31 for 25 meters of 10mm,comes in a nice box, about 18" square .Top tip don't stop half way through the winding for a coffee and fag,you lose the knack get a kink in the coil and have to cut the pipe and start again.

Re: Dimmer switches
Not really a good idea as the pump is an almost pure inductive load that most domestic dimmers don't like, also the way most dimmers work is by chopping up the mains.so the motor is constantly stopping and starting, eventually leading to a rather warm motor .The best way depending on the motor is to e...

Re: Electric element safety shroud ideas
you need to work out the amps again on the elements as we no longer have 240V in the Uk, its been 230V for quite some time Almost but not quite, Year ago the supply voltage in the UK was 240 volts plus or minus 6% ,then europe decided we all need to be the same, they used 220v. so they moved the goa...

Re: Electric element safety shroud ideas
We were having a chat at the work about this the other day and were floating the idea of splitting the 3kw immersion heater between two 13amp plugs. Connect the immersion to a 20amp boxed switch and then connect the 20amp switch to two 13amp plug sockets. Have the 20amp in the 'off' position and sw...

Re: Damn!
High temperature silicon sealer ,something like SILIRUB HT-A is ideal, good for up to 285 c.I've just used some to seal the elements on my home made boiler.
