Imperial Brown Ale (looking for)

As the title says, but beer to be put into a barrel to condition and mature. My local club is planning a new barrel project and we are settled on this one. Lookng to build a recipe now, any opinions on recipe welcome. Plan is to use a Rum Barrel, if available. ABV around 8% ish  .

Re: Kozel Dark

The coca cola of beers is how I describe this beer, just too nice to drink. My local club went down the rabbit hole trying to clone this beer a few years back. will look up the 2 recpes I did later. Do recall getting Franconian Drak Lager yeast to use for this once, WLP4030.

The sugar will fully ferment out so drying out the wine too much and I don't personally like that taste it leaves aswell. Its coming up to that time of year when hedgerow fruits will be available and I...

Re: Kegland cheap mini keg adaptor

Another handy use for this is an inline sight glass. Put a small clear bottle on it and then you can observe the beer as it passes through on to the keg.

Re: Kegland cheap mini keg adaptor

Great bit of kit. Can be used for beer line cleaning as well as putting clearing material in through the gas post under pressure.

Re: Digital Refractometer

If ya likes to spend money, Anton Paars is your man. Price is not listed so you have to click the Buy button. Motto is, if you have to ask how much it is, you can't afford it  .

Re: Digital Refractometer

As above, I like to check the gravity as the brew day progress's and have being using my normal refractometer but like the ease of this. The Anton Paars models cost over £300 but this one from my mate Ali in China looks fair value and its my Birthday in January :)

The read out is fast and clear. No peering down a tube at a vaguely hazy line!

This is why I like it too, getting too old trying to see that gammy line while peering through the handheld yoke.

When I alerted my local club to this launch, they, being an acerbic bunch were focused on Brown IPA being really an American Brown
