Hello Stomach.I can say I've never had experience with this kit but I noticed on your profile status that you're bottle conditioning Brewferm.A local department store used to stock them but haven't for a few year now.Do you buy yours online or elsewhere?I always did the Abdij for Xmas and would lik...

Festival Spiced Winter Ale

Ive just bought this kit to have a nice wintery ale at Christmas. The kit comes with liquid malt in a bag, and a bag of sugar (plus priming sugar) Has anyone had experience of this kit, as Im wondering whether to add spray malt instead of the sugar it comes with. I assumed (wrongly) that it was a tw...

Old Kits

I've inherited (some time ago now!!) some old kits:-

Brewferm Frambois
Coopers Mexican Cervza

Their expiry dates were 2017. I assume they are still 'usuable' being in tins but will obviously need new yeast.

I was wondering whats the best yeast for each kit.

Cheers in advance!

Stout By Ditch - Ditches Stout

Ive been away from home brewing for a while and now starting to get back in it.

Back in the day I would knock up a Ditches Stout, but cant find the original thread / recipe on here. Is is still about? Is Ditch still about?

Cheers

A Return!

After a break of a number of years due to various life reasons, the current pandemic has got me to dig the gear out again! I'll be putting on a wherry, coopers stout and a couple of wilcos kits after I have sanitized the buggery out if the equipment! The Wilcos kirscare old but I've ordered some rep...

Re: Ooh Err Missus !..... Real ale overdose?

If this Brew gets down to 1010 you are looking at a Session Ale of Approx 9.3%! Keep That sh!t the f**k away from me then! Few pints of that and I'd be dashing around the meadow, on all fours, shouting at swallows ..... Before collapsing on my face and gently pissing my denims! :( Hahahahah...

Re: wilko's

Don't worry, I'm not using all 5 bags of medium DME with the English Bitter! I needed some for a Bock kit that ive got planned and the EB will form the base for my Xmas Ale. http://s26.postimg.org/blcpccixh/1157930_1.jpg I feel like I've actually saved some money, as I actually wanted these bits ;-...

Re: Geordie Yorkshire Bitter

I did a simple Geordie Bitter last year with 1 kg of light spray malt and it was very nice, it even won a local village shows beer making section, taking best kit and overall beer pitted against the all grain brewers!! :D

The Waen Brewery in Mid Wales near me does Chilli Plum Porter. I havent tried it but its winning awards left right and centre, and finding its way on many pumps in pubs aroudn the country!

Tesco Extra

My local Tesco (until I stop working away) has got Coopers beers at 10 quid, Canadian Blonde is £9.50! I see on another thread that Tesco Direct has a sale on, but it seems to have spread to the supermarket too!

Its Failsworth, Manchester by the way!
