It was our 34th anniversary in August. There wasn't a cake though

After years using my own computer fan/hard disk magnet/phone charger, I found this Magnetic Stirrer so cheap I couldn't resist, With the 5% discount that was £16.18 delivered complete with a stir bar. Works perfectly.

I am in two minds about a mill. I can easily buy everything crushed and a good one is a north of £200. So can a taste a £200 difference? Did a mill improve your beers? The main thing I noticed is an increase in mash efficiency. My beer has improved over the years but that is probably due to my technique improving as I become more experienced.

Compatible it maybe. but the clamp is too small for a pre BM20 Plus models. so modification of the clamp is the cheapest, easiest route to take. 12g of sugar is about right. You didn't kill the yeast, the sugar fermented, created CO2 and pressure, so the yeast must have been active.
The question is why wasn't more CO2 dissolved in the beer...trouble is I don't know the answer...may be to do with the temperature it was stored and served at?

A BM is a Braumeister. They are now selling a lid with a seal so you can ferment in the Braumeister rather than transferring to a fermenter after the boil.

Have you got in to water treatment yet? That was my next big step after the fermentation fridge.

May be the first time the cap wasn't sealed properly so the CO2 escaped, then when you added the sugar the cap did seal.
