Re: All Indiana grown ingredients batch
Nice! You will have to let us know how it turns out. Is that a big malster or a little niche one? I always fancied doing a foraged-ish year of beer (nettle beer, elderflower pale ale, elderberry imperial stout, green hop beer, gruit) but a lot of the ingredients have pretty small windows to pick and...

You are not the first and certainly won’t be the last to do this. I would not worry about it too much, just be glad it was not Chemclean.

Whilst over there or did you take the import duty hit? The Euro and pound are both in the toilet at the moment so will not be helping things.Nashbrew wrote:Ended up buying in the US, the UK KK product prices are eye-watering.
Did you manage to get a sparkler spout too?

Re: Dried fruit aroma and flavour
Special B or W. Simpson’s newish DRC is meant to be similar and I’ve just tried some in a porter but it’s currently finishing fermenting so maybe someone else can comment on it in the finished beer.

Re: Ultratap Flow Control Twist
Malt Miller had something similar (if not those) at BrewCon. Indeed, we had them on our kegerator at Brew Con, I have been promised these within days. Will be on the site as soon as we have them. Excellent! So how does the sparkler attachment fair compared to the normal spout? Does this mean you ar...

It might be worth sending The Malt Miller an email as they stocked it and sometimes have spares for that kind of thing kicking around.

If you cannot find it then you can also get connectors (stainless steel and other materials depending on application) to join different sized tubing.

Re: Inaugural Ipswich Homebrew festival
That looks a nice selection of beers and great to see a foraged beer too, any outstanding ones?
Good to see the East Anglian clubs put on these festivals for the public, I think it’s a great advert for the homebrew scene.

Re: [solved]Pressure regulator connection
Further research suggests that the John Guest fitting that I have is a "John Guest Female Adaptor 3/8 inch Tube OD x 1/4 FFL Thread" and the thing I am looking for is a "1/4" FFL 1/4" barbed swivel nut" which are readily available on ebay. You might want to consider using these with them; they help...

Re: Larger quality and secondary fermentation
If you mean using bottled CO2 or bottle conditioning with sugar then you can do either to carbonate the beer. German breweries also have another couple of methods to adhere to the purity law (ie not adding sugar or non-fermentation produced CO2): - Spunding The beer tank is sealed towards the end of...

Re: Abbot ale kit wanted
Beer has a shelf life that depends upon a few things, including: - Storage conditions eg temperature and if it fluctuates - Amount of oxygen present in the beer after fermentation has finished (usually introduced by transfers/packaging) Beer stored at room temperature, especially in warmer months, w...

Enhancers Vs brewing sugar Vs can sugar
It can makes thing cheaper if they are transporting the beer before before packaging (or receiving it in the UK from abroad or another site for packaging). They save on mash tun and fermenter/bright tank space and costs. It isn’t increasing efficiency by assuming for a higher gravity, the efficiency...
