Thermowells and stc1000 temperatures probe for inside fermenting bucket

Right, I'm starting brewing lagers and need to drop a temperature probe into the fermenting vessel and figure I need a thermowell, never used one so this is another learning experience. I've got stc1000s with the simple metal probe which I'm presuming that I insert into the thermowell? Do these just...

Re: Frozen beer! STC1000 trouble!!

I had the same issue once , it turned out that the temperature sensor probe had jumped ship and and was outside the door of the fridge , it had fallen off the keg it was attached to, and when I closed the door of the fridge , it was accidently trapped outside of the fridge . It was sensing the ambi...

Re: Frozen beer! STC1000 trouble!!

I do like inkbird instead of the stc. Have both. They have alarms which help, and can even communicate with your phone... The beer will separate slighty, but should be OK. Maybe stir gently. You have "jacked" the beer. You could invert it and just drink the alcohol! I've managed to freeze it twice ...

Frozen beer! STC1000 trouble!!

I have been using my new build keezer which has been working fine until the other night when I went to get a beer and nothing? I primed with gas and still nothing them noted that everything had frozen! I have an STC1000 controller and I've had one just blow before but never this. I'm relatively new ...

Re: Keezer nearly finished what beer line cleaner should I get?

Pretty much as you surmise. I remove the disconnect from the Beer line and push it into the 3 way. You could make it 4 by adding a two way to it. 3 litres is enough PBLC. You just want enough to sit in the lines to do their thing. Pull through a bit more, let it do its thing, then pull through a li...

Re: Keezer nearly finished what beer line cleaner should I get?

As requested. It really is a simple method. Just pump it up, until you can feel it. https://res.cloudinary.com/orl8ndo/image/upload/c_scale,w_2000/v1615392508/IMG_20210310_160150_bpkghu.jpg Many thanks, I'm presuming that you use this so that you can just flush through with this rather than pressur...

Re: Keezer nearly finished what beer line cleaner should I get?

I use the purple stuff, lasts for ever. I adapted a garden sprayer with a JG fitting and attach a 3 way JG fitting to allow 3 lines to be cleaned in one go. Anyone know of a 4 way? I'd really like to see how that works if you could post a photo up that'd be great, I'm presuming clean all lines betw...

Keezer nearly finished what beer line cleaner should I get?

I am just about finished with my keezer build and need some beer line cleaner and I need to know what everyone does out there. Primarily which cleaner do I need? I hear various bits on here, the purple stuff? Is it cheap enough and do you fill a keg with it and flush it through your lines and can I ...

Re: Keezer gas manifold and fitted taps? Collar questions!

I used XPS to insulate the collar on my keezer and Gorilla glue to stick it on, which doesn't eat away at the foam. What thickness of XPS did you use and how effective has it been? I've only just got around to building the collar but I'm at the final stages so I'm now looking at insulating. I'm ext...

Rust in the very bottom of my cornelius kegs

Hi, I have rust in the very bottom of two of my kegs and what I'd like to know is would it affect the beer? I'm guessing it's not a good thing so clarification would be good, I'm presuming it's bad and I shouldn't use them. Can this be cleaned or treated? I can't reach the bottom of the keg at all s...

Re: Keezer queries! Fans, temperatures etc.?

Thanks for all the responses, I've just logged in after a hiatus caused by the fitting of a new kitchen. All is well and I'm back brewing. Agreed the keezer has been fine at 10.5 degrees with a 1 degree tolerance and the carbonation has been fantastic, really pleased with the keezer but need to fini...
