Schoolboy error, 220v model on its way, I sincerely hope this works!

Do these just wire into the fridge circuitry? I think I've just blown mine? I got the 24v model is this correct or am I missing something? It lit up briefly then fried! The thermostat is only 3 amp and the fridge is 13 amp, I just thought I'd work!
