Keezer hygiene, white growths on kegs?

OK, I have fitted a thermostat and I'm running the keezer at 10.5 degrees +/- 0.5 degrees and I haven't got around to fitting the collar but I've got four kegs ready for storage which I'm drinking from and using party taps with long coils of piping to control the flow. I was really pleased with the ...

Re: Keezer queries! Fans, temperatures etc.?

To be fair until this year I was just keeping kegs at room temperature full of ale and just drinking straight from them as and when and I never really had a problem but somebody made a comment saying that the beer could spoil if not kept cooled hence this project. 2-3*C to me seems too cold, I don't...

Re: Keezer queries! Fans, temperatures etc.?

Storing whilst drinking to be fair and I did think 2-3*C was a bit on the cold side for beer, I'm thinking of getting some carbonation in though and it'd need it to be this cold to force carbonate wouldn't it? The beers have all fermented out so it's just for serving and drinking and maybe keeping s...

Re: Keezer queries! Fans, temperatures etc.?

I've got pale ale, stout, ruby bitter etc. I've read that this is the temperature that unpasteurised beer should be stored at and it also ensures carbonation at this temperature. Yes it's corny kegs of beer generally but I will be putting a couple of kegs of wine in there as well for summer and to k...

Keezer queries! Fans, temperatures etc.?

Right I'm on my way to building this thing and I'm thinking about installing a fan to keep the air circulating, the question is should it be on constantly do you think of should I wire it in to work with the compressor? Constant use I guess would be better but I'm interested to know what other peopl...

Re: Keezer build project, equipment query I.e.

Do these just wire into the fridge circuitry? I think I've just blown mine? I got the 24v model is this correct or am I missing something? It lit up briefly then fried! The thermostat is only 3 amp and the fridge is 13 amp, I just thought I'd work!

Keezer gas manifold and fitted taps? Collar questions!

Hi, I'm just about to start this project and I'm trying to decide whether to buy a gas manifold to distribute to all the kegs. I normally would just clip in and out when a keg needs pressurising but obviously this would be cool to hook up but is it just an extravagance? Who's done it and would they ...

Keezer build project, which thermostat? Fan wiring?

Hi, I'm looking to build a keezer and currently trying to sort a freezer suitable, probably going to get a large 5-6ft freezer to convert as I want to be able to store about 8 kegs ideally to allow some maturing of brews. Which thermostat should I use? There are loads out there and I'd be interested...

Re: What gas regulator should I get for my corny keg set up?

I saw these Italian regulators and I should have known that I'd need one as they seemed to be the most expensive but you do get what you pay for and I'm very grateful for the advice, I may as well bite the bullet! I'm going to get a protector as well any advice on them? I guess there all much of a m...

What gas regulator should I get for my corny keg set up?

Ok, I bought this set up second hand and the regulator has been bashed about a bit and the plastic regulator spindle has perished. The regulator I have has no pressure relief valve so I want one with this function and I just want one that does the job well. I don’t think mine is working properly as ...
