Hi everyone, another one returning to the fold, I was a member some 15 years back, but stopped brewing because of Gout. No point in making the stuff if you can't drink it, but with modern medicine, we now have it under control.
I've dusted off the old Klarstein and even started an LME Dunkel just to get me rolling, that's now sat in a King Junior keg in the ferm fridge.

When it's bad I couldn't walk, only been like that once, it's not just drinking, anything can fire it up, but I now know I can have a pint or two and be safe.

I have the same problem. With me it's not beer but red wine that provokes an attack. So I have cut out the wine and if I feel it coming,usually at four in the morning, I take a Colchimax tablet and it never develops into full blown gout.
Someone once described gout pain like this. Put your big toe in a vice and tighten it until you cannot bear the pain and then tighten it one more turn !!!

Good Morning IPA...I have only one word to say to you sir....Pelforth..
Cast your mind back maybe 8/10 years, we were both after a recipe for the above beer. You got there first and even sent me a bottle to taste, and I must say it was better than the original. I still have I think your recipe and I'm working up to making a grain order so I can have another stab at it.
