Best price for 25kg sacks of grain?

Post by Digby » Thu Jun 15, 2023 10:17 am

Hi folks,

I need a couple of 25kg sacks of uncrushed base malt and just checking where people are going to get the best price and service? I know of all the usual online bods like Malt Miller etc but wonder if there are other options that are under £40 a sack. Maybe I am just being tight!

A couple of local breweries could supply crushed, but I like to mill my own. I live in Essex and don't mind travelling around East Anglia to collect as I travel about a bit for work.

Cheers,

Matt

If your local brewery are prepared to let you have a sack or two, why not cheekily ask them if they can order a couple of sacks uncrushed for you? I have had such a chat with a local brewer near me.
Fermenting: lambic, American Blond
Conditioning: English IPA/Bretted English IPA
Drinking: Helles Bock, Orval clone, Impy stout, Conestoga, Old Hooky clone , Jester single hop pale ale, Simmonds Bitter, cascade wet hop pale
Planning: Kozel dark (ish),and more!

Loughran Brewers select.

Find a branch, if they are near enough, collect. Great bunch. £50 for 2 sacks of pale last week.

If you're able to collect Digby I can order some in for you here at Wibblers, drop me a PM. I can beat the £40 a sack price easily......£39.95
