Has any one tried brewing a beer using a high nitrogen distilling malt? if so what were the results like?

I've not heard of it.

The high nitrogen levels would most likely cause haze problems in pale beers.

It will be a little hazier than you expect and a bit darker with more mouthfeel. Distillers malt tends to have more enzymes. Although when they say high nitrogen it may just be at the levels of say a "stout malt" from muntons or a mild ale malt. It's worth checking nitrogen numbers against brewers malt. Most distillers malt is made from optic barley.
