Well noted on the water front ! I will have a look at remodelling the garden when the plants come. Thanks.

My hops arrived from Germany... but they're a bit scabby and I'm not sure they're going to grow. I've been urinating on them and everything, but still nothing :)

I got mine on Sat, mine are looking pretty scabby too. I repotted them and they're starting to show a bit of growth though. Keep the faith! If you're going to piss on them though... i'm not so sure :=P

I think mine are dead... They've been in the ground now for a couple of weeks and they aren't doing anything at all...
They've not rotted away yet though, so... fingers crossed.

I appreciate mine from Essentially Hops have not travelled as far but they had around 10 inches of growth when they arrived and have put on another 2 inches since planting last week. I might still wee on them just for merryment though (is it supposed to do them some good or is this a punishment for underperforming ?)

Widdle is the best plantfood there is!
My goldings plant which came from essentially hops is a monster!
The Hellertauer hops came from Germany and I think they were delayed in the post and dried out too much. They haven't shown any real signs of life since I put them in the ground a couple of weeks ago.
But I've not given up on them yet.

The Northdown I got from Aplus was rather wilted and the shoots died off but about 3 weeks later it started to sprout again(I kept it watered during this time).

As for feeding, tomato food has been mentioned elswhere.
