seeds

Post by Deebee » Mon Aug 17, 2009 9:29 am

The climate in my part of Norway is great for growing hops and the MRS thinks it would be fun.

Does anyone know of anywhere online i can buy seeds?
Thanks

ebay usually has some, but you won't know what variety they are or whether or not you'd get Male of Female plants. *You could just as easily get them out of your hops from brewing, Pull some cones apart before you throw them in the boil*
The are nice climbers if you only want them for the visual aspect, but if you want to brew with them you'd be better buying Rhizomes or specific varieties.

Oh, I think I heard that collected seeds don't always come up as the true variety, and they can take a long time to germinate. :)

Don't use seeds: it's impossible to know what kind of hops you get, and whether they're male of female (you need female plants). Aplus Hops is a good source for hops rhizomes, but you should wait until early spring (March - April) before ordering.
