A thought, but could we have a sticky thread for hop flavour typical profiles, so as to function as a quick reference guide? I find a lot of "normal" online resources can be a little hard to interpret, so if this thread acted as a pool for key descriptive words, then they could be added to the original post where the hop list is?

E.g:

Cascade
Potent American hop with a distinctive flavour; lychees, citrus, slight grapefruit. Can cause harshness in large volumes or when dryhopping.

Aurora
European hop with an atypical flavour profile; passionfruit, mangoes and other tropical fruit

Thoughts folks? :?: This may have been suggested before though and I appreciate that it's a pretty subjective matter and wouldn't materialise overnight, but I think it'd be handy to pool thoughts and opinions, especially as we tend to be a pretty diverse bunch on here when it comes to trying out different hops.

Ordered some Aurora hops tonight after hearing good things. I'm looking forward to trying them out :D

They sound a little like Amarillo to me, I get a lot of mango and apricot from them.

nice link trucker, bookmarked that one

it's a great idea yashicamat, but i reckon if we have a sticky here we'll end up with a thousand mile thread of randomness with some hop descriptions scattered between! a hop wiki would be good....one that anyone could edit and add to

The Wiki Idea is good, it would let people add photos of plants they had grown as well as descriptions of the hops.

I was actually thinking just to use my original post as the actual index, with all the replies just as the place for people to add info, then a mod (or me possibly) can just compile it into the list in the first thread.

I meant first post of the thread, not first thread. #-o But you know what I meant.

I would appreciate the input / go-ahead from a mod before I start on this though?
