Anybody used hops from this Ebay seller? Seems to have good feedback...

Cheers,

I'm pretty new to all of this but, while I've not been pissed off with mine (I've used pilot and mt hood) I think I'll be using BB in future as the quality of the bobek I got from there was definitely better.

this thread might be of interest, you might even be able to take up one of the offers of free hops for postage

The general consensus seems to be not great but not totally awful. Some complaints of an odd aroma. I think somebody said that they are from the 2005 crop.

I agree, I was reading that thread at the time I needed hops to finish off a couple of brews-worth of grain before my next big order. Chickened out and just ordered from BB in the end.
I brew therefore I ... I .... forget

I'm after some Mount Hood to have a crack at a JHB clone and can't seem to find them elsewhere.

For £1.40 it's gotta be worth a punt!

I used Glacier from them and they seemed old to me.

I would be wary of uber cheap aroma hops. But the high alpha stuff is great for cheap bittering.

I've had mostly good ones and a couple of bad lot's.
Having said that, I had a cracking IPA with the Herkules and either Pilot or Liberty-can't remember which.
As the previous post says, these days I tend to use them for bittering and get aroma hops from BB.
Also I agree the Bobek from BB were practically pulsating with aroma.

I've not been disappointed but nor have I been blown away - a bit cheesy/old on some and though they seem uber-cheap once you add in postage barley botto them a good run for their money but with better quality.

If they;re the varieties you're after they are cheap (e.g. williamette) but seem to suffer in the packaging with some oxidation.

I found they had no aroma or flavour unfortunately! Although the beer I made with them was very nice, it wasn't because of the hops.

I would recommend borischarlton (Rob) on here for hops, try a search. Also brewzer, the homebrew shop, barley bottom, hop & grape.

Have been impressed by hops from thrifty.

Tempted by returning to hop specialist for some aged hops... trad for belgian beers!
