I have sterlings (along with goldings) growing in my backyard. Most years I do a wet hop bitter. This year I was thinking about a wet hop pilsner with the sterlings.
I think that sterlings would be a good wet hop choice and a good FWH choice, but was wondering about using wet hop sterlings as a FWH.
Any thoughts?
wet hop/FWH ?

wet hop/FWH ?
I'm just here for the beer.

Interested to hear and follow this - growing hops for first time and thinking about usage. I know a lot of belgian beers use fresh undried hops and want to learn more in hope of harvesting

You may be treading new ground here, Rookie. I'll be keen to hear how it turns out. I have never tried Sterling personally.

Sterlings are a cross of saaz, hallertau and a bit of some american hop. To me they are very saaz like and work great in czech pils.
On the other hand I'm not getting any growth so far. It has been cooler and wetter than normal so far this spring; I'm thinking it will go to town when it warms up and dries out. The goldings are doing better.
I'm just here for the beer.

I have a sterling plant now, if I actually get any cones off it I will definitely put them in a pils. I read the description and it sounds delicious!

Where did you get the Sterling? Sounds like a nice hop.

Managed to get one off of a lady in Norwich, along with a Mount Hood and a Wilamette. They're really healthy and growing pretty fast, just repotted them all today.
