Green Bullet hops??

Post by beer gut » Fri Nov 12, 2010 12:43 pm

Hi i have just bought some Green bullet hops i have read the write up on it however sometimes these write up's can be diffrent in flavour, aroma than mentioned. So i was wondering if anybody has used Green bullet and could give me some inside experence on the flavour, aroma you found in your pint.
What i have been told is green bullet is the flagship hop for New Zealand comercial brewers and craft brewers. Personally i love New Zealand hops so if green bullet is the flagship well that makes me very excited but caus i have no brewers that i know that have used green bullet so iam not sure what ale i should use green bullet in.So any thoughts i would appreicate thanx

Check this out

Seems a lager may be the best choice.

I did a Green Bullet only for a summer party.
6.4% and 57 EBU, bit of wheat, bit of Cara Amber. 100gms of GB in four additions (27L).
Very lemon, loads of aroma, but different - you would have to try it for yourself.
Acorn did a single hop GB (amounst many others).
Served it from a kegerator, though a flash chiller and a "sweating" Fosters tap at about 2C.
I think it worked much better than single hopped Pacific Gem or Pacific Jade, both of which I have tried.
Even the lager boys loved it!

I think i will use green bullet in my new zealand i.p.a but not as a single hop bill i might blend it with some nelson sauvingn and i might use a classic aroma hop to finish. I like the sound of the punchy lemon flavour as described it will work real well in a punchy i.p.a.
