Fuggles hops for swap

Post by SMASH3R » Mon Mar 28, 2011 7:02 pm

Hi all,

I have a relatively well established pot of fuggles hops that are starting to rocket up through the soil. I already have fuggles in two permanent positions in the garden and would like a different type of hop to supplement. The fuggles I have for swapping are in a single, large pot (black, approximately the size of a typical bucket - 15" by 15"?). They were rhyzomes taken from an established plant in september 2009 and grew to about 25 feet last year (lots of water and regular feeding). They really need putting in a much bigger pot or in the groud this year.

Does anyone have a good, established chunk of hop roots they would like to swap with me. The ones I have are in great condition and ready to go if transplanted in one go. I suspect that if you plant soon, then there should be a reasonable harvest this year provided the root is not too traumatised during planting. Preferably I would like to swap for something similar in size (quality) rather than a single root stick that will take two seasons to get going. Someone nearby must be over-run with a big root ball of cascade, first gold, or other similar new high(ish) alpha hop. I know the fuggles in my garden are crawling around very noticably.

I am willing to meet somewhere nearish. I am regularly between Derbyshire and S. Yorks if this helps.
Send me a message.
