I've used EKG and Cascade together before to good effect!

Presumably, Cascade is used for bittering. EKG or Fuggles for aroma...

In fact I used EKG bittering(35 IBU)/flavour/aroma and dry hopped with some Cascade.
I'm still drinking this ale and it's good/to my taste.
I'm sure it could be done other ways as well, just reporting my experience :)

I'd even be as bold as to say, almost any American hop will blend well with a bittering addition of Challenger :)

you might be right, certainly they give a nice floral aromatic bitter which along with willamette and goldings was my prefered combination in straw coloured bitters, until those crazy dudes in new zealand reinvented aroma hops and now I don't konw what i like anymore - i'm currently playing with nelson Sauvin and Willamette which I have high hopes for

My next brew is going to be a nut brown bittered with simcoe (about 20 IBUs) and a bit of goldings at the end.
I'm just here for the beer.

I did a light summer ale last year, a user-upper with challenger and amarillo. It was a thing of beauty and was gone in no time!

I've rethought it and am going to add some goldings to the simcoe to get the IBUs up to 25.
I'm just here for the beer.

Running Liberty with a Saaz I know its not a UK hop but mix and match on latest taste is very nice.

I was going to hit the last hops with a Fuggles but thats next time.

might even stick in a bit of Nelson S to grape it up a bit.

PLAY WITH IT :D

Can't see why liberty won't go with saaz Isn't liberty bred from hallertau? Just as using styrians in pale ales works
As for Nelson S I think that would work, but you might need a lot. I've just brewed a pale bitter using willammette and nelson s for bittering then 20g nelson s for the last 15m and its come out quite insipid, quite lagery, such that I made a hop tea with another 50g in a couple of litres of the beer and rebottled and its looking promising now!
