I salvaged a brew which had no aroma whatsoever by making hop tea with around 50g of nelson sauvin, added to a few pints of the beer at 80c and then left cooling. Produced a lot of aroma but my reckoning is at that temp it should have left most of the bitterness behind. So I froze the spent hops thinking I can use them for bittering.
Any thoughts anyone on whether reusing em will screw up the brew?

Re: Tight B...
Not from practical experience, but from what i heard those hops will still have bittering in them....actualy i may start to do the same cus the hops in my hop rocket just go in the bin after they have give up thier aroma....

It won't screw up the brew but it will make the IBU calculation a bit more vague.
And, yes, it does make you a tight ar5e....

I'm from leeds I can cope with being a tight arse!
I shall give it a go, normally I'd throw late hops away but this was a fair sized batch my feeling is to to aim for say 40 ibu and go for a flavour addition of challenger at 30m and late hop heavily, that way if the overall ibu turns out lower the aroma will compensate I can also have a taste before he aroma go in and manually adjust.
