Hey guys,
So i havn't been keeping a close eye on my first year EKG. However today i noticed they were starting to turn brown.
Am i too late? After rubbing them between my fingers, theyre sticky and smell amazing.

Too brown?

Do people harvest the small ones at the same time? or leave them to grow a bit longer?

Cheers

Sticky and smell amazing are too good signs they are (at least) close to be ready for picking, however usually its good to get them before they go brown (unless it's a bit of sun-burn).
If they are dry, almost like paper, and come away from the bine with just a little bit of gentle pressure, then (combined with the other things you mentioned) its time to pick them.

I've been out and about in the local area, picking wild hops this last week. The signs of a decent harvest aren't good.

The newest growth seems to be small and is turning brown already. Many plants have little or no growth at all. I assume that the wet August is to blame. My favourite spot has yielded about a third of that of last year. :(

Another week maybe, and I reckon they'll probably be finished. I hope they're doing better in neighbouring Kent.
