Splitting out or cutting hop plants - How do you?

Post by phatboytall » Fri Apr 13, 2012 11:39 am

I've got a Cascade plant that has gone mental this year, loads of shoots and it looks like it needs more room than is there. I was planning on digging it up carefully and splitting out some of the vines with roots to plant in pots elsewhere.

How exactly do you split out vines from a plant? Do i need to cut anything?

Ed

Take a sharp knife and cut a piece of rhizome off where there are shoots coming off, I replanted my First Gold the other day and did the same and the cutting is doing great. If you want to I will swap a first Gold cutting for a a cascade cutting.
