I bought some hops a while ago, and they've just been sitting in abag in the cupboard after i use some of them. Should i have put them in the frigde, or anyhting else? will they be going stale?

Most keep their hops in the freezer. Sqeeze all the air you can out of the bag then seal it up good (possibly double or triple bag).

Hops degrade over time - the colder the better to slow the process.

Hops deteriorate with oxygen, light and heat (and time obviously). If you remove some of these then they will keep better. Some hops can loose half their bittering power in a year at room temperature.

Charles Farm told me that the freezer is good because of its low humidity.
