Even spiders on some leaves.
Spiders are good , make sure you don't spray them
That's the only problem with sprays, they're relatively indescriminate

I know it's not nice, but if your plants are'nt too big the old thumb rubbing on the leaf will take care of most of the aphids

Whitefly are gits

sorry ages in replying to this but FWIW for the future.....

If you have Aphids on the underside of the leaves the 'Whitefly' on the top of the leaves are unlikley to be whitefly as whitefly are also found on the underside of the leaf.

What your probably seeing is what we call ghosts, these are the shead skins from the aphid above.

As Aphids grow they cast their skins (which are white), these are often mistaken for Whitefly, they get stuck on the leaf surface below the aphid colony.

Hi DaaB

The Provado Ultimate bug killer range is pretty good, they contain the same active ingredients we use comercially(Imidacloprid and Thiacloprid), these are systemic (taken into the plant and then ingested by the sap sucking whitefly) Note these are predominatly for ornamental plants although some edibles are now listed for limited use, check the label before spraying.

Its available as a concentrate, ready to use hand spray or Aerosol. Interestingly (to me  )I see the aerosol has two active ingredients (Methiocarb and Imiadacloprid) which should make it more effective (but you can bet as its ready to use quite expensive) The concentrate will work out more economic.

Hope this helps
