I used his Bravo + glacier in a APA (with cascade from my LHBS) and it the resulting beer had a cheesy feet smell/taste that took a very long time to disappear (and it definitely was not the Cascade's fault as I reused Cascade from the same bag in another brew which had no cheesy feet smell)

I had cheesy cheesy smell on opening my mt hood hops from this seller - was very worried but it cleared v. quick after I threw out the packaging which seemed to be where it came from...

My dunkelweisen is VERY bitter from using the liberty hops too - much much more than expected, have now brewed with the williamette, pilot, mt hood and liberty from this supplier and awaiting results - aromas were good but not top notch. Planning on finishing my liberty in my first lager but having found good hop prices (and free postage) on thriftyshopper.co.uk and barley bottom's always good prices (esp on lager hops) I'm not gonna be rushing to save money again on eBay...

liberty and glacier

Post by Deebee » Wed Jan 06, 2010 8:39 am

I bought from this guy and he stung me for extortionate postage to Norway.

BB sent me 50 protofloc ( cos they are like rocking horse poo here) some bokek and styrians and i paid like 2 quid in postage.

this guy sent me 100 glacier 100 libery and i paid near on 10 quid in postage,

I got the hops home ( with a small freebie too) and find the packs vacuum packed and the hops covered in some kind of light brown film.

I havn't opened them yet and am wondering if i am even going to bother based on this thread.

He puts them into a brown paper bag first. It keeps the light out I guess and makes it easier for vac packing

They're worth using - don't get me wrong on that but they're certainly not the best. I also went  when I saw them as brown but all OK once opened.

BB is dfef my preferred hop supplier from now on though!

I was nervous when i saw the brown film, As previous poster said its just a brown bag. My pilot hops smelled fine, decent powerful hoppy aroma when i opened the bag. Glad as i have a mixed KG of them to get through. Worst case scenario, use them in an IPA!
