chris-reboot - I am thinking along the same lines as you of keeping everything the same accept the late hops. Probably going to follow GW's summer lightning recipe, of MO for grain, and challenger for bitterness and SO4 yeast and then just change the hops for the last 15 minutes.

I was thinking about doing one batch and splitting into 1 gallon lots for the last hops but wasn't too sure how to go about it, for the very reason you state of not ending up with 40 pints of something I don't like, also means get 4 - 5 varieties in one brewing session rather than having to do 4 - 5 full brewing. Not quite sure how to organise it though, possibly will try and separate 23L into two, after the 90 minute boil drain out the boiler and then transfer half back into the boiler with the late hops and boil it up and then do the second load so will end up with ~11L of each. Even if its horrible I'll still drink it, I have been known to drink Carling!! Think I might need another FV to do four lots in a weekend. Not planning on brewing this until 5th/6th of June so have a few days to work out how I'll do it all.

If I separate into 1 gallon lots I'll have to boil on the hob in a large saucepan, after the boil and chilling any suggestions on how to filter the hops and cold break out at the end? Wonder if I can get a really fine sieve - one I have is quite a wide mesh
