which hops should i use in an "ale mead"

I found a recipe for an ale mead here: http://www.gotmead.com/index.php?option ... Itemid=459 which i thought i'd try to see what it's like. Can anybody recommend a good type of hops to use for this sort of brew as a flavour that would go well with the honey? i was intending to use a fairly plain honey. any views on yeast strain to use would be very useful as well.

thanks.

How about something like First Gold. The orangey flavour might go quite well with the honey.

I would use a fairly nuetral ale yeast and a hop that is flowery/spicey.
I'm just here for the beer.

might first gold not be a little too bitter as i would have thought a softer flavour would be better or the honey taste could be fairly obscured?

I've used fuggles as that is what I had to hand and its all been drunk so cant be to bad, cant remember what yeast so I either used S04 or Nottingham as that is what I use for beer or a cheep Youngs champagne yeast as that is what I use for mead. Sorry to be a bit vague but hope it helps

ended up making it with some bramling cross for the slightly spicy flavour and SO4 yeast. was bubbling away nicely for a few days and seems to have calmed down a bit now. will probably be bottling it at the end of this week and priming and conditioning as usual for a beer though i think it won't need too long conditioning as the honey flavours are a little simpler than a complex ale.
