HOPS, Bobek, Columbus and Nelson Sauvin to start

Post by The Home Brew Shop » Fri Feb 12, 2010 6:41 pm

hi,

I would just like to let you know
we at The Home Brew Shop ( Aldershot ) NOT Farnborough now
Have just brought a nice new vacuum sealer ( not the cheap £70 home ones ) this beast cost £2500

We have started to buy our own hops in bulk and re-pack them,
this will allow us to keep costs lower and in so pass the savings on to you the customers
this in turn allows us to get more types of hops

We already have started and got some Bobek, Columbus and Nelson Sauvin all 09 HARVEST
which by 08 standards the quility is so much better

we also have Organic Fuggles 08 harvest
Summit hops should be with us next week ( if they are in stock at the hop merchants)

we still have some Brupaks hops, but most of these will be replaced with our own vac packed hops
as we work though our stock holding apart for the real odd ones with little sales these will reman Brupaks

Excellent i've been looking for Columbus to try out, i'll make an order.

Looking forward to seeing more varieties in stock. Good to see the HB shops competing a bit.

Do you ship via Royal Mail for just a couple of packs of hops or is it flat rate?

Interesting :) I assume the more varieties you buy in bulk the prices will drop to something sensible?
Some of your prices are over £8 per 100g! Amarillo for instance is about double the price I would pay.

As i said we have some brupaks stock left and with their mark up and our mark up and the poor harvests in the past few years
caused the high prices

We decided it was about time the prices came down with the 09 harvests prices for a lot of the USA hops have halved

Amarillo has been ordered
so best too keep a eye on the prices

Dont forget we are a shop and warehouse and we do have over heads
and charge VAT
