First Gold Hops

Post by Honey303 » Sun Sep 12, 2010 6:36 pm

Hi

Iv just decided to start growing some hops in order to make a brew. Iv always been a fan of early bird but want to grow another variety as well. I like the sound of First Gold which I reckon might go nicely with the early bird. Does anyone know any good hop sellers where I may be able to get some seeds/plants/rhizomes to start propagating? Any other advice for a first timer on varieties and growing wouldn't go a miss either!

Thanks

I got a couple of first gold rhizomes from another member of this forum (awalker) earlier this year. They have both taken, but only the one in a pot has cropped this year.

I believe he will be taking cuttings again this winter, and others probably will as well, so keep an eye on this forum

Ah that sounds promising! Are you brewing them with another variety or just on their own?
