There was a small bit about hops and hop picking in herefordshire on the farming today program, radio 4. Avaliable to listen for the next week here.

Looks like this year should be a good year for hops.

Yeah I heard that on my way to work this morning, wonder what it means for users of hops though, does it mean they will be cheaper? Better quality? Improve the beer?

Good news. Hopefully, there'll be some cheaper hops soon [UK varieties, anyway].

Rising barley prices will probably cancel out any gains, though.
