Phoenix hops

Post by naffolddog » Tue Mar 29, 2011 5:19 am

I'm dreaming up a single hop brew using Phoenix hops, but I understand they're a a bit naff on the aroma side.
Has anyone used these as a late hop?

 I believe they were originally bred as a replacement for Challenger. Supposed to be a dual purpose hop but with very mellow aroma. They seem popular with the yanks for their English flavour profile.
