Suppliers with stocks of Ahtanum?

Post by Mattb » Sun Sep 04, 2011 12:21 am

I've looked at every online shop I know, googled, and rang my LHBS, and for the life of me I cannot find any Ahtanum.

Anyone know of anywhere with stock? Or, failing that, a good alternative? I read somewhere that Amarillo substitutes well - is that true?

Brilliant, thankyou. If only I'd thought to search for "antanum".

Bizarre.

So I ordered three 100g vacuum packs of Ahtanum ("Antanum") from the link above.

They arrived this morning - Packed in a box 18 inches long, 11.5 inches wide and 8 inches deep, filled with balled up newspaper, tissue paper, and *another* box, this one 13 inches long, 6.5 inches wide and 6 inches deep. That box had the three packets of hops in, along with assorted balled up paper for packaging.

Commendable efforts, lads, but I think a vacuum pack of hops is sturdy enough to withstand the knocks and abbrasion of the postal service - they're not made of glass.

And the vacuum packs themselves claim to contain "Anthanium" hops.

?

I presume I've got the right stuff. Label states 4% Alpha Acid which is at the low end, but within the expected range for Ahtanum.
