Hops for english I.P.A?
Hops for english I.P.A?
Hi there everyone iam a little stuck i don't know wich hop to use for bittering in my english i.p.a.I have been bouncing between North down, Challenger,Bramling x i like First Gold but alot of people say the flavour from First Gold is to American.I don't like using the same hops on every ale i brew.I have never used North Down in light ales i normally use North down in my Darker ales, i have also been thinking of using pioneer in my i.p.a but with it being a new hop there is not alot to go on about pioneer's flavour or aroma. Please help i think my head is going to explode!

Personally, I'd go for Fuggles, they are about as English as you can get.

Spin a wheel and make some thing interesting. That's the beauty of brewing your own. You can do anything. Very unlikely you can make a bad beer with the correct guide of bitterness and a sensible grain bill. Bramling Cross is my english favorite

If you want a true, traditional english IPA then east kent goldings are the ones to choose.

You can't go wrong with EKG.
I'm just here for the beer.
