Will a 60 minute hop addition contribute any flavour or aroma?
IS it possible to calculate the amount of flavour that will be imparted to the brew?
I think thats probably a tall order, was thinking along the lines of X amount of hops will impart strong hopflavour, medium light etc.
60 minute Additions
Re: 60 minute Additions
You will have a flavour and aroma associated with the bittering hops, but the lighter aromas and flavours will be boiled off, hence the aroma hops added near the end of the boil.
For a nice floral hop aroma I put a small amount in at flame out to steep in there as it cools.
In terms of measuring, not sure but someone more knowledgable should be along

One or two hops like chinook are pungent enough to carry over to the end, but most hops need some added at the end.
I'm just here for the beer.
