Isomerised hop extract
Okay, so I could buy this chemical solution... I don't like the idea, but has anybody actually tried using it?
I used some once (donkey's years ago), and didn't like it. The hop flavour was atrocious.
Of course, it might have just been a bad brew, but I never used it again (fingers burnt etc).
I know commercial breweries use it, but I haven't knowingly tasted a commercial brew with hop extract, so I don't know if they make a better job of it than I did. They do it for economy, I think, not for quality.
