All,
I have some left over grains but no hops currently.
I am looking to try a single hop brew and have looked at using Pilgrim Hops as it is supposed to be good at bittering but also with a good aroma.
I will get a single 100g packet so was looking at using it all in the brew. I have come up with this recipe.
Grateful for your thoughts on this.
Fermentable Colour lb: oz Grams Ratio
Pale Malt 5 EBC 7 lbs. 12.4 oz 3530 grams 90.1%
Crystal Malt 130 EBC 0 lbs. 6.9 oz 195 grams 5%
Torrefied Wheat 4 EBC 0 lbs. 5.4 oz 155 grams 4%
Chocolate Malt 1050 EBC 0 lbs. 1.2 oz 35 grams 0.9%
Hop Variety Type Alpha Time lb: oz grams Ratio
Pilgrim Whole 11.6 % 90 mins 0 lbs. 1.4 oz 40 grams 40%
Pilgrim Whole 11.6 % 10 mins 0 lbs. 1.1 oz 30 grams 30%
Pilgrim Whole 11.6 % 0 mins 0 lbs. 1.1 oz 30 grams 30%
Final Volume: 23 Litres
Original Gravity: 1.038
Final Gravity: 1.009
Alcohol Content: 3.7% ABV
Total Liquor: 32.2 Litres
Mash Liquor: 9.8 Litres
Mash Efficiency: 75 %
Bitterness: 69.6645211853712 EBU
Colour: 26 EBC
I am not sure if the bitterness is too high. I may be able to dry hop as well. I am after a nice light beer with real hop aroma. The zero minute hops will be put in after the wort has cooled to 80 degrees C.
Anyway, grateful for your thoughts on this.

Re: Which Dual Purpose Hops
Just suppin a pilgrim I did 4 weeks ago. Bitterness level is fine as mine was about the same. But I did chuck in a 100g at 0 mins, to balance it out, to be honest it's bloody lovely. One of my favourite hops!
