Yesterdays brew had a misfire.
During boil I popped the wrong hops in.
Instead of bittering I added the hopstand teabag.

I quickly removed it & dropped it into cool water, to add later, which I did.

When washing up the teabags. That bag felt very wrong. When I emptied it, the hops had created a hard "gristle" lumps. Just like you might get on a steak.

Normal is a total breakdown of the pellets, like wet breadcrumbs

Can anyone explain this?
