I have recently taken the the step to try out some wine kits. I have a white in secondary and fermenting a red just now. I have just stuck to the kit instructions for now as I find my way and not looking to go full on tweaking just yet but I was interested if switching to different yeasts has the impact we often see with beer?

For example, I am looking to do a full bodied red next which I will age for a year or so before bottling. The kit would be one of the close to top end ones at say £75, is it worth my while to look at alternative yeasts and if do people have any recommendations? Not just for the example I just provided but in general if they have a go to yeast for any given style, good all rounder etc?
