Mangrove Jack's Voss Kveik

Post by charliemartin » Wed Jul 15, 2020 11:54 am

Hi,
I am planning a brew soon (my 100th) using Mangrove Jack's Voss Kveik yeast. (Post started in Brewdays). I was wondering if anyone has had experience of using it.
My plan is to try and ferment at about 30C, but not sure if my fermentation fridge with tube heater will be up to the task of keeping the temperature up. I will switch off the cooling side so it doesn't kick in at any time. It should be okay if it goes higher I reckon.

Cheers,

Voss likes it more towards 40°c if it’s farmhouse

Packet says for optimal results ferment at 30-40C so maybe I will try to get it nearer to the upper range.

I recently fermented with cross my loof voss kveik. Its a fantastic yest that finished in 3 days at 35C. I brewed a neipa style so i can't comment on what the clarity would be like in a more suttle brew.

Thanks for the info. Not too worried about clarity, as long as it tastes good.
