Four year old Munton's
I brewed a two gallon batch of bitter yesterday with an O G of 1.034. I pitched a six gram pack of Munton's with a date of 11/16 at 3pm. There was a 1/8 inch layer of foam at 9pm and the airlock was burping every two seconds this morning at 8am.
I'm just here for the beer.

6g in 2 galons of beer should be plenty, even if it is 4 years out of date. Did you hydrate the yeast first?
Never enough time...

No, I almost never do.
According to Brewer's Friend yeast pitch calculator 5 grams would be right and figuring 4% loss of vitality for dry yeast per year the 6 grams I pitched was just right.
The burps were every 4 seconds last night and it looks like it's done this morning.
