Wife making me make some turbo cider

Post by ni9e » Mon Dec 10, 2007 11:12 pm

The wife really likes cider and reading this forum has had her poking me to make her some the plan is 4ltrs pure apple juice from asda 250 gr sugar and a packet of yeast.
What temp is best for the brew to ferment
How much sugar do I need to add to PET bottles to prime
How long does she have to wait to drink the cider?

I brew mine with Champagne yeast in the kitchen at about 20 degrees and then prime with 30ml of apple juice per pint.

You can drink it straight from the demijohn but it does improve with time. Leave it a s long as humanly possible... about three weeks at least if you can for best effect.

1 tsp per pint is the norm, keep your bottles in a warm area for a week and then in the cold for 2 to3 weeks before drinking...longer if you can and all should be well.
