I have 5 days into a 2 gallon TC batch using a full sachet of champagne yeast. I have read on this forum ( and others ) that you can use the slurry from the finished & racked TC, to make a nother batch. If this is right, is it as simple as just pouring more apple juice straight onto the sediment? Also, how much would i be able to make? Would i need to add anthoing else, ie more yeast, nutrient, sugar etc?
cheers for any help.
TC slurry
just pour the juice onto the slurry and stand back because it'll probably start bubbling virtually immediately.
i have used the same container and just poured juice on or if the container was very encrusted from previous brew i have poured the slurry into a sanitised bottle with a funnel, sorted out (sanitised) the fermenting vessel, then thrown the juice and slurry back in, both ways have worked for me.
I have made batches up to the same amount as the previous one, i have also split the slurry over multiple small brews.
I haven't had to add anything to my TC's but a bit of yeast nutrient wouldn't hurt, only add sugar if you want to up the alcohol levels.

After I did my last beer brew, I added 10 litres of apple juice to the slurry (or lees) and a jar of honey, I stirred it up and put on the air lock and brew belt, went back to the shed an hour later and the airlock was popping like mad. 4 days later I bottled said brew and it tasted fantastic I was well chuffed. So my answer is yes go for it, it'll almost certainly work. btw I did'nt steralise the fv just chucked everything straight in.
