Hi Guys,
I have an orchard full of apples, pears, plums and damsons. They were planted back in 1907 by my great grandfather. I have this year decided to make the most of the fruit instead of just letting the windfls rot.
I want to have a go at cider making, problem is im not too sure what varieties are in the orchard and as ive read on here that a mixture is best and cookers are a sort of no no.
Ive managed to dig out an old post card that my great grandfather wrote the plans on for the orchard but im finding it hard to read some of his writing.
I will upload a pic on here and If you could take a look and advise what varieties are there then it would be much appreciated.
also if someone on here is a pro when it comes to making cider the old way, scratter - press and all, could they please pm me as I would like as much help with this as possible please
Is there someone on here thats a pro when it comes to cider
I have an urge to make "proper cider" but have never progressed beyond TC. This site is quite informative and may be of some use.
