So i picked up 3 Litres of sainsburys basics apple juice and a Tropical juice drink (Orange, Pinapple, Bananna)
Mixed it with sugar bar 1L of apple juice, saving that for when primary is slowed down.
Right now its sitting next to me doing nothing!

1.120 is too high, your yeast is going to be suffocated with sugar and if it does start will more than likely stick resulting with a sickly sweet drink, I would suggest diluting the must untill 1.080 max, remember your topping up with juice so it won't dilute at that time.Benson_JV wrote:
EDIT: Forgot to mention, when i took a gravity reading before pitching, i had to get my dad to double check i hadnt made a mistake, it was literally off the charts, so above 1120Is that normal for a TC?!?!?
That did cross my mind, but it seems to be happily chugging along, evidented by bubbles in the airlock, so im of two minds, leave it, or split itCurious-brew wrote:Split it between two demijohns and top up with water I would...
Split it, otherwise the yeast will stall once it's reached it's alcohol tolerance and you'll end up with an over sweet beverage, trust us we've been there numerous timesBenson_JV wrote:That did cross my mind, but it seems to be happily chugging along, evidented by bubbles in the airlock, so im of two minds, leave it, or split itCurious-brew wrote:Split it between two demijohns and top up with water I would...

Here's the turbo cider I started last night, I did have an airlock on, but just removed it when I saw the TC on someones ceiling in another thread
