Hi all, Today I was given a youngs cider kit by a friend. He says he had 2 of them and brewed the first one and it wasnt that good so he wasnt going to brew the other. I decided to make a few alterations to the kit. Basically I ditched the yeast that came with it and used some champagne yeast. His major gripe was that it wasnt appley enough. I made a 40 pint batch using the kit , 5 liters of sanisburys 100% apple juice (pasturised type with no chemicals) and yeast nutrient and 1kg of brew sugar. Do you think it will work and ferment or have I done wrong?
All the best
Chris
Ps.. it is bubbling like crazy and I only put the yeast in 2 hours ago
cider will this work?
Re: cider will this work?
you will end up drinking it, or puting it on your Chips.
Drinking will be fine, I have done the very same.#
I have some apples sweating in my garden just waiting a few more days then I'll scratt them and press a few Ltrs.

I know someone who got hold of a garden waste shredder espescially for use as a scratter. Not sure how he cleaned it afterwards, but his cider was very good, put my TC to shame
